Muslims prevented from watching sexily dressed Malaysian female artistes
South East Asia News.Net Saturday 19th July, 2008 (ANI)
Kuala Lumpur, July 19 : A concert held at a small Taoist temple to mark the "Birthday of The Gods" in the Malaysian town of Pasir Mas turned ugly when the organisers of the event were told that the shows were only to be watched by non-Muslims.
District council authorities cracked down on the organisers after they were informed that some Muslim men and women had been seen in the audience on Tuesday, the first night of the two-day concert with male and sexily dressed female artistes.
According to The Star, the council sent its officers to prevent Muslims from watching the shows and told the organisers to put up a curtain to block the view of passers-by.
The council claimed that the organisers had flouted existing guidelines by allowing Muslims to view performances by female artistes, some of whom were "sexily" dressed.
Local Government Committee Chairman Takiyuddin Hassan said the guidelines on outdoor performances clearly stated that female artistes were barred from performing. He said that although the concert was within the temple compound, it was held in an open space where others could watch.
State Gerakan Chairman Ng Chiang Chin, whose house is in front of the temple, said it was the second time that a religious celebration at a temple was disrupted.
The event was held with an outdoor community concert organised by members of the Tao Tin Hu Keng Association.
Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) vice-president Donald Lim Siang Chai was quoted by the paper as saying that some people would interpret the action of the district council as distasteful, as it was only a two-day religious festival. He claimed that many such events were held at temples previously and no action were taken by the authorities.

You should educate your people properly instead of asking third parties to stop doing things you think not right. One with proper education and with right ethical values will automatically filtered what is deemed wrong and accept what is right. This news tell us that a great failure in your education system.
The concert has proper permits and further, it is with religious values to other communities. Do think about the meaning of mutual respect before you put your remarks.

Do us all a favor
Muslims need to do us all a favor and just kill themselves. It saves us and them from their bullshit Islamic laws.
And further, Mohammad was a homo.

make knowledge -based statement!
I believe Matthai, that u have made the statement about our beloved prophet just based on your emotional and so-not-intelligent instinct. I suggest that before you go making such statements again anywhere, do some research first...because historic transcripts that is dated way hundreds years before clearly states a totally opposite FACT to the one you made about prophet Muhammad... :)
It’s a shame though how low people nowadays are...not to mention how ignorant... ^_^

Respect
Perhaps the Sun should edit some of the messages posted on site. Asd a devout Hindu I object strongly to Mathhai’s statement. All people of goodwill should respect, not just tolerate, other people’s religious beliefs and feelings. Hatred and bigotry get us nowhere.

Editing
I agree with Respect and the editor of Sun should not have posted comments by H.A.W. and Matthai as they are bigots out to create disharmony in our society. Total decorum is the sign of an educated person!

What about the internet?
Authorities..Lets be frank and intelligent about this. If muslims are so out-of-control and cannot practise will power..then please also ban the internet!
Christians also have strict “orders” in the bible about “looking at women with lust”, but it comes with self control and accountability to God.
When you fellas gonna grow up man!?

Matthai should respect..
Matthai... dont speak if you dont have any non-emotional content. Emotional reaction only lowers yourself to those whom you’re trying to fight against.

65% of the Malaysian population are Muslims. If everyone wish to be respected, then, know respect to otehrs means! Do anything you want to do in your private life. But when it starts to disturb others, then you must stop. In the so-called fisrt world countries, even pressing a car horn is illegal somewhere, what more blaring your speakers out to the whole neighbourhood, and challenging the majority! If you want to go to hell, it is your choice.

Freedom of expression
I don’t agree with what Matthai said but I defend his right to say it. History shows that no police state could ever exist without strict censorship. Who decides what can and can’t be said? Where do you put the limits? Do you want more press freedom or less? Humans do make stupid remarks from time to time. If we are mature enough, we are able to ignore such statements and move on.................

too much flesh
Too much flesh
I totally agree with the council. We need to do something about the millions of tourists who spend billions of ringgit in order to expose themselves along our beautiful shorelines. Places like Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang and the East Coast are becoming cesspits of moral degradation. Women with endless legs and large chests dressed with nothing more than postage-sized pieces of fabric held together with bits of dental floss, prancing up and down the sandy foreshore. We can’t have that. Who in his right mind takes pleasure from seeing that? Let’s recapture our beaches from the bitches!

Mutually Do Not Interfere
Hi, to both Muslims and Non-Muslims,
Please learn not to interfere, we all have the right to choose our way of life.
If you do not like what the others do , shut off your ears and close your eyes. And of course, keep your mouth shut.
That is called Mutual Respect and Tolerance.

Ignorance and Stupidity
Ignorance leads to stupidity. That is a poor judgement call on Matthai. Before one opens her or his big mouth, please do an extensive research and study on the Quran and/or other Holy Books. Then, one may state a concrete and an educated opinion. Opinion based on emotion simply makes one a fool...
Engage your brain before you open your mouth...
