QUEZON CITY, Oct. 27 (PIA) - University of the Philippines (UP)- Diliman issued today suspension guidelines for storm signals during remote learning.

The guidelines were set in consideration of the students' place of residence, or where they have chosen to participate in synchronous and asynchronous classes, after recent typhoons have caused disruptions to online classes.

In a Memorandum signed by Chancellor Fidel R. Nemezo addressed to deans, directors, and unit heads, following are the guidelines:

* Storm Signal Number 1: Online synchronous classes are suspended due to internet connectivity issues caused by the typhoon.

* Storm Signal Number 2: Online synchronous classes are suspended due to internet connectivity issues, as well as possible power and telecommunication service interruption caused by the typhoon. The faculty is requested to extend leniency and flexibility (especially to students from affected areas) by postponing submission deadlines.

* Storm Signal Number 3 and above: Both synchronous and asynchronous classes are suspended due to internet connectivity issues, as well as possible power and telecommunication service interruption caused by the typhoon. The faculty is requested to refrain from asking students to submit any class requirements. (MTQ/PIA-IDPD)
