Sen. Bong Gobrings in more aid to Malasakit Center in Dagupan

DAGUPAN CITY, Feb 26 (PIA) - Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go visited the Malasakit Center situated at the Region I Medical Center in this city Friday to personally monitor its operations and bring in more funding.

The Senator, who is the brain behind the idea of the Malasakit Centers in the Philippines said the center is for all Filipinos to ease their burden when their loved ones get sick.

"Ang target ng Malasakit Center ay zero balance. Wala nang babayaran ang mga poor at indigent nating mga kababayan. Kaya pag kayo ay pumunta sa Malasakit Center, sabihin niyo, pera niyo yan," Sen. Go said.

Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go lauded the front liners in the Pangasinan who continuously do their jobs amidst the threat of corona virus (COVID-19).

"Sa ating mga frontliners konting tiis pa po. Alam ko pong hirap kayo sa inyong trabaho lalo na ngayong pandemya pero kailangan nating magtulungan. Ang sambayanang PilipIno ay umaasa sa serbisyo ninyo," he said.

With this, he encouraged Pangasinenses to get vaccinated once the vaccines for COVID-19 are rolled-out.

"Magtiwala kayo sa gobyerno. Kami ni Pangulong Duterte ay handa na maunang magpabakuna. Hindi dahil prayoridad kami kundi para ipakita sa taumbayan na ang bakuna ang solusyon para malampasan natin ang krisis na ito," he added.

Senator Go said some 600,000 vaccines are expected to arrive in the country in the following weeks which will be attended to personally by the President.

Meanwhile, Center Chief Dr. Roland Mejia of the R1MC said the Malasakit Center is one of the very important initiatives of President Rodrigo Duterte through Senator Bong Go.

"Since its inauguration in February 2019, the office of Senator Go has given out a funding of P120-million for indigent patients and the fund has benefitted 85,248 patients since then," Mejia said.

In the same ceremony, the Senator turned-over a P5-million check for R1MC and the whole province.

Also present during the event were Fourth District Representative Christopher De Venecia, Vice-Governor Mark Lambino, Mayor Brian Lim and former Congresswoman Gina De Venecia.

After the R1MC activity, the senator motored to the Dagupan City Plaza to give financial assistance to vendors and boatmen and at the Dagupan City National HIgh School grounds to bring aid to tricycle and jeepney drivers and operators who were greatly affected by the pandemic.
