Mural painting tilt to highlight 2021 Women's Month

ILOILO CITY, Feb. 27 (PIA) - - The University of the Philippines Visayas, through its Gender and Development Program, in partnership with Ugsad Regional Gender Resource Network is conducting a Mural Painting Contest for the Women's Month Celebration this March.

Carrying the theme "Unsung Heroes of Western Visayas: The Strength and Power of the Woman," the initiative aims to highlight the significant roles and invaluable contributions of women in the time of COVID-19 pandemic.

The contest is open to all member-institutions of Ugsad Regional Gender Resource Network.

According to the organizer, only five member-institutions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participating institution/organization shall be allowed only two representatives who will be given five whole days, one-day per week from March 1-31, 2021 at 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, to complete their painting.

Participating agencies and identified representatives must work on their assigned schedule provided by the organizer who will also identify the space/wall to be painted by the participants.

The wall, which is five feet long by 10 feet wide, is located at the back of the UP Visayas Gender and Development Program building, by the Balay Balay Child Minding Center Playground.

The organizer will also provide the materials and tools to be used by the participants.

The criteria for judging will be as follows: relevance to the theme 30%; creativity and originality 40%; and visual Impact 30%.

Winning entry will get P3,000.00 and its photo will be posted in the official social media accounts of UPV and Ugsad Regional Gender Resource Network.

Interested institutions/organizations are advised to submit their duly filled up registration form to on or before March 3. The winner will be announced on March 31, 2021 and will be notified via email and text message. (JSC/laf/PIA6 Iloilo)
