LAHORE, Pakistan - FIFA, the world governing body of football, lifted Pakistan's suspension on Thursday and extended the mandate of the normalization committee for another year.

FIFA decided after Pakistan met all relevant requirements. Pakistan will now not only return to the international football circuit. It will also be able to hold leagues and other events with the financial assistance of FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

"On June 29, 2022, the Bureau of the FIFA Council decided to lift the suspension imposed on the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) in April 2021 due to undue third-party interference," FIFA said in a brief press statement on Thursday.

"The decision was made after FIFA received confirmation that the PFF's normalization committee had regained full control of the PFF's premises and was able to manage its finances," the statement said.
