YANGON, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- The 15th Myanmar traditional Htamane Festival, or sticky rice festival, kicked off in Yangon, Myanmar after a two-year pause, with 24 teams competing to make Htamane, a glutinous rice-based savory snack and a seasonal festive delicacy.

The traditional delicacy is ceremonially prepared around and on the full moon day of Tabodwe, the 11th lunar month of the traditional Myanmar calendar, just as the cool season ends. Some pagodas and monasteries, including the Shwedagon Pagoda, hold Htamane-making competitions.
