(251005) -- KATHMANDU, Oct. 5, 2025 (Xinhua) -- The Bighi River is seen swollen after heavy rainfall in Mahottari district, Nepal, on Oct. 5, 2025. A total of 43 people have been confirmed dead in disasters sparked by monsoon rains in Nepal in the last 24 hours, a government agency said on Sunday.
Among the dead, 38 were killed in landslides, three in lightning strikes and two in floods, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said in a statement. (National News Agency of Nepal via Xinhua)
